Hi to all and welcome to a House of Vintage blog. Here you find an eclectic, unique and hopefully exciting blog about all things retro, vintage and antique. We love treasure hunting, finding old worn out furniture, rescuing throw aways and reinventing then into something special. We also collect, buy and sell a huge range of collectable items including vintage glass ware, kitchen ware and home wares.
Our little venture started with some vintage jewellery that we purchased at an auction and we still buy and sell a range of vintage jewellery including a large range of mens cufflinks.
Every week we will showcase what we have been up to, post pictures of our projects and make available items for sale. We would love to hear from you so please don't be shy and feel free to post your thoughts. We also have a Your Story page and would love to hear from any any other vintage lovers / collectors and share your story with us.
Now a little about us - My name is David and my wife, Sonia and I live in the beautiful Tropical city of Townsville in North Queensland, Australia. We were married in 2011 in a little village in Italy called Sienna.
In 2012, I was seriously injured in a freak Tornado that swept through the town and had some time off work to recuperate. This is when my wife and I went to our first auction and purchased some vintage jewellery. From there I opened an ebay store and six months later we decided to take a risk and go full time.
We have now started collecting all things antique, vintage, retro and cool. We love the thrill of the hunt and finding rusty gold. We also love rescuing pieces of furniture and home wares that are destined for the scrap heap and giving them a new future by reinventing, up cycling and renovating.
